eHarmony Video Bio is a viral video featuring a woman calling herself “Debbie” professing her extreme love for cats during what is supposed to be a video for the eHarmony dating site.
Origin
The video entitled “eHarmony Video Bio” was uploaded by YouTube user hartmanncara on June 3rd, 2011. The monologue begins with a young, timid woman introducing herself as “Debbie” and explaining that it is her first attempt at creating an online dating profile video. Not even a full minute into the video, “Debbie” suddenly hits a wall of emotions and becomes teary-eyed professing how much she loves cats.

The video was posted on The Daily What[1], College Humor[2], CBS News[3] on June 9th, 2011. On June 10th an article was published on The Huffington Post[4] titled “eHarmony Cat Lover Video Bio Beyond Ridiculous”.
A video titled “KIDS REACT TO eHarmony Video Bio” was posted on July 3rd, 2011.
As of July 8th, 2011, the clip has racked up over 11 million views, spawned dozens of parody videos.
Real or Fake Debate
A debate over the authenticity of the video has taken place in the YouTube comments with many users claiming the video is obviously fake, and some users taking the video seriously.
Identity
The woman has identified herself as Cara Hartmann, and she has since created a website[5], Tumblr[6] page, Twitter[7] account and has a Facebook[8] fan page with 2,805 ‘likes’ as of July 13th, 2011.
She uploaded another video to her “hartmanncara” YouTube account titled “OMG!!1 sooo many views!” on June 15th, 2011. The video starts with a shot of a laptop playing the original eHarmony bio video before she enters the frame to answer a cellphone and says “Hello? Oh hi, Hollywood.”
Cara has also done other videos, currently posted on her youtube account, portraying different characters. Some have found these circumstances as confirmation that the original video was indeed a fake.
Gregory Brothers Songify
On July 7th, 2011, the Gregory Brothers uploaded an auto-tune remix to their “schmoyoho” YouTube account. The video has received over 2.8 million views as of July 13th, 2011.
